Analyse Contrastive des Systèmes Phonético- Phonologiques du Kotafon et de L’Allemand

Résumé

Abstract – This paper aims at the contrastive analysis of Kotafon and German phoneticphonological
systems: Kotafon as Gbe-language and German as German language. Kotafon has
thirty-two (32) consonants and twelve (12) vowels, among which there are five nasal vowels.
German contains twenty-eight (28) consonants, seventeen (17) oral vowels and three diphthongs,
which are considered as phonemes. As far as the syllables are concerned, there are only open
syllables in Kotafon, whereas open and closed syllables characterise German. In a prosodic field,
it is to mention that Kotafon has distinctive tones. German possesses accents which have the
distinctive function only in few cases.

Résumé – Cet article vise l’analyse contrastive des systèmes phonético-phonologiques du kotafon
et de l’allemand, deux langues d’origines différentes: kotafon en tant qu’un parler-Gbe et
allemand en tant qu’une langue germanique. Le kotafon compte trente-deux (32) consonnes et
douze (12) voyelles dont cinq (5) nasales. L’allemand compte vingt-huit (28) consonnes, dix-sept
(17) voyelles orales et trois (3) diphtongues qui sont aussi monophonématiques. Concernant leur
structure syllabique, le kotafon n’a que des syllabes ouvertes, tandis que l’allemand possède des
syllabes ouvertes et des syllabes fermées. Sur le plan prosodique, le kotafon comporte des tons
distinctifs, tandis que l’allemand possède des accents qui ne sont distinctifs que dans peu de cas.
