L’EXPLOITATION AGRICOLE EN MILIEU MARBA AU TCHAD : UNE REUSSITE MITIGEE DANS L’OMBRE DE L’EVOLUTION SOCIALE ET TECHNIQUE

Résumé

La connaissance des pratiques traditionnelles agricoles est aujourd’hui un sujet de préoccupation majeure pour les agricultures familiales africaines en panne de leur développement. Au Tchad, les systèmes d’exploitation familiaux établis sur une petite agriculture familiale peu mécanisés sont subordonnés aux conditions climatiques, politiques et agro-écologiques du milieu naturel. Basé sur des observations de terrains, et des enquêtes menées en milieu Marba au
Tchad, l’article montre que le paysan se bat pour maintenir ses
niveaux de production agricole, principalement dans la filière riz pour laquelle le seuil de rentabilité des deux dernières décennies est menacé avec l’érosion des surfaces cultivées. L’article dénote en outre que des paysans, de plus en plus nombreux, abandonnent progressivement les bonnes pratiques traditionnelles, les conditions de l’exploitation agricole et l’organisation de travail autour du chef de terre datant de la
période coloniale.

Abstract
The knowledge of the agricultural traditional practices is today a
subject of major concern for the broken down African family
agriculture of its development. To Chad, the family operating systems established on a small family agriculture little mechanized are subordinated to the climatic, political and agro-ecological conditions of the natural environment. Based on field observations and on a survey carried out in Marba medium to Chad, the article showed that the peasant fights to maintain his levels of agricultural production, mainly in the die rice for which the break-even point the two last
decades is endangered with the erosion of cultivated surfaces. The article indicates moreover of the peasants, increasingly many, are abandoned progressively the good traditional practices, the agricultural operating conditions and the organization of work around the head of ground dating from the colonial period.
