Abstract

Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO) as tools for project management and monitoring

Communication, synchronization, and control become key success factors for project management. Manual project management methods suffer from numerous losses due to the diversity of stakeholders, each of them operating with their own management rules that are most often incompatible with those required for the success of the project. Automating these methods with smart contracts and autonomous decentralized organizations (DAO) provides more flexibility, reliability, and synchronization, which significantly and qualitatively improves project management. This paper studies how Autonomous Decentralized Organizations can be applied in the management of IT projects, providing a more transparent and democratic governance model, as well as more efficient management of resources. We propose the concept of the DAO Factory which is a design pattern, of DAO for monitoring IT projects based on the rules of the Scrum framework of Agile methods. Our study shows how the integration of smart contracts into the Scrum framework improves efficiency and quality of work while reducing costs through task automation.
