COUTUMES FONCIERES, CONFLITS ET RECONFIGURATION DE L’ESPACE CHEZ LES KONGO DE LA VALLEE DU NIARI (XIXe-XXe SIECLE)

Résumé

Depuis les dernières migrations qui les ont fait venir de Kongo dia Ntotila, leur foyer primordial, les Kongo de la vallée du Niari sont tapis sur un vaste espace géographique qui domine l’essentiel du territoire sud congolais. Leur installation dans cette région est une réalité ancienne, marquée par la fin d’un long processus de construction où s’invitent mythe et histoire. Après l’occupation des terres, sur un fondement rituel, ces Kongo ont développé des coutumes foncières coercitives, presque rebelles au changement. Dès la fin du XIXe siècle, ces coutumes se sont heurtées aux règles foncières proclamées par le colonisateur. Depuis lors, et pour des causes diverses, l’espace kongo està l’épreuve d’une série de conflits fonciers sourds et ouverts. Ces conflits ont atteint leur pic au lendemain de la Conférence nationale souveraine de 1991. Portées vers le juge pour délibération, ces crises occasionnent des expulsions
et des migrations internes, cofacteurs d’une recomposition interne de l’espace communautaire.

Abstract: Since the last migrations which made them come from
Kongo dia Ntotila, their paramount hearth, the Kongo of the valley of Niari are carpet on a vast geographical space which dominates the essence of the southern territory congolais. Their settlement in this area is an old reality, marked by the end of a long process of construction where myth and history are invited. After the occupation of the grounds, on a ritual base, these Kongo developed coercive land habits, almost rebels with the change. As of the end of the XIXe century, these habits ran up against the land rules proclaimed by the colonizer. Since then, and for various causes, kongo space is the series proof deaf and opened land conflicts. These conflicts reached their peak in shortly after the sovereign national Conference in 1991.
Carried towards the judge for deliberation, these crises cause internal expulsions and migrations, cofactors’ of an internal recombining of community space.
