The strategic ambidexterity of USSD technology in the telecommunications ecosystem in Congo

Cette étude examine les caractéristiques de l'écosystème technologique USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) et explore les dynamiques entre technologies 1G, 2G, 3G et 4G dans le secteur des télécommunications, en utilisant le modèle ARDL pour analyser les interactions à court et long terme. Les résultats montrent que les variations immédiates du segment 1G/2G influencent positivement le segment 3G/4G, tandis que les retards indiquent une transition progressive vers les nouvelles technologies. Une méthodologie rigoureuse s’appuie sur des tests post-estimation (Ljung-Box, ARCH, CUSUM) pour garantir la robustesse des conclusions. L’étude met en évidence des implications stratégiques, telles que l'importance des investissements en 3G/4G et la gestion des utilisateurs encore liés au segment 1G/2G.

Abstract
This study examines the characteristics of the USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) technology ecosystem and explores the dynamics between 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G technologies in the telecommunications sector, using the ARDL model to analyze short- and long-term interactions. The results show that immediate changes in the 1G/2G segment have a positive influence on 3G/4G segment, while delays indicate a gradual transition to the new technologies. A rigorous methodology uses post-estimation tests (Ljung-Box, ARCH, CUSUM).
